(Of course, this did not necessarily mean I was unhealthy.) But I *did* have knee and back problems due to the extra poundage, and I didn't always feel that great.
Over some years though, I naturally eneded up in an atmosphere that allowed me to get back on track with my health. I was in an area near Vancouver that had major hills, and buses that were never on time. lol I found myself running up and down hills all day long just to make it to school/work on time.
I was surrounded by back to back produce places where I could simply buy one banana instead of a whole bunch, or a couple of oranges and a bag of grapes. It became more inconvenient to bus all the way home whenever I was hungry than to just pick up something portable and inexpensive while I was out. Eating cheap produce all day combined with all the running, I managed to lose a bit of the weight and started to feel pretty healthy. -Better than I had in years.
I've lost more than 70 lbs since, as I also have a special interest in nutrition. I'm trying my hand ay veganism, although I'm just vegetarian for the moment. Basically "vegan at home", though I strive not to make things too complicated when others are providing food for me.

I enjoy biking, swimming, ice skating...something to get the heart-rate going every day. I'm into juicing/blending; total novice!! Just researching right now. If it makes sense to me, I give it a go.
