I've done February Album Writing Month a couple times. In the past year I actually released two albums, even though I don't actually play any instrument and I sing poorly.
One of those albums included full sheet music, though I don't read music.
This year I decided to try my hand at 50/90. (Fifty songs in 90 days.)
In addition to crazy musical projects, I also engage in National Novel Writing Month. Last year I didn't do NaNoWriMo in November, as I was helping my eldest do her first. (The Young Writer's Program starts in Kindergarten.)
I really, really dig the Creative Commons licenses.
At some point, I'm going to have to focus on actually learning an instrument. When I do so, I plan to work on covers for some of my favorite CC-licensed songs.
